The island has an elliptic shape and  it is 4,5 square Km large. From East and West it appears as two small separated islands. On the highest mountain (Monte Guardia dei Turchi)  there is a signal station all around the horizon. The circumnavigation of the  island is less than seven miles. Please, keep attention to the restrictions to the navigation in the area. The holiday season starts in May till October.  Once the artists visiting the island were used to paint the walls of the houses. The most common means of transport is the donkey.
