The islands is placed in a very heavy traffic route.  It is a volcanic island and its highest mountain reach 800 m . Pantelleria is more near to Africa than Europe (46 miles from Bon Cape - Tunis and 55 miles from Granitola Cape -Sicily). The harbour is north west of the island. The shelters are near Cala levante and Scutari island. The circumnavigation of the island is 21 miles.
